Meet the Major G.O.A.L.S. Team. Our team of volunteers consists of community neighbors, parents, as well as High School students from diverse professional backgrounds and have various skills, who are passionate about helping our youth reach their highest potential.
Raeshonda Ferrell, Founder Executive Director. Raeshonda oversees all operations of the organization. She is a Veteran with over 18 years of service. She and her husband Jeffrey are parents to six adventurous children. She is passionate about academic achievement as well as, increasing overall health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. Raeshonda has a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology with an emphasis on Health and the Life. She received her Masters of Education in Community Health and Promotion. She is currently a Doctoral Student studying Health Education and Promotion.
Jeffrey Ferrell, Board President. Jeffrey is a compassionate, ambitious, and achievement oriented 23-year army veteran with over 20 years of leadership experience in both military and civilian work environments. Jeffrey utilizes his leadership skills to work towards the organization’s mission and vision. He reviews all the performances of the organization by tracking progress and evaluating goals and objectives. He leads the organization in establishing community partnerships, designing strategic plans, and creating outreach initiatives. Jeffrey values the importance of an education by fostering his love for learning through mentorship in the organization. Jeffrey is a car enthusiast who enjoys spending time with family and sharing his experiences with the next generation.
Andre Borders, Board Treasurer. Andre overseas all aspects of the organization finances. He is dedicated to helping the organization meet its financial goals by managing and monitoring all policies and procedures. Andre advises the board on fundraising and financial strategy. Andre serves as a Public-School Administrator. He has a bachelor’s degree in arts and sciences and a master’s in educational administration. He has worked in education for 26 years and loves building meaningful relationships while providing guidance and educating young scholars. He takes pride in his family as a husband and father of two beautiful children. Andre enjoys spending time with his family, fixing and tinkering with almost anything, especially anything dealing with motor sports.
Darlene Davidson Gantt, Board Secretary. Darlene is a retired Art Education teacher of 30 years. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree, and has taken some graduate coursework, and continuing education classes to strengthen her growth and development as an educator. Darlene enjoys working with children and encouraging them to excel and develop their talents. She loves to inspire children to believe in themselves, so they can have the confidence to achieve in reaching their personal interests and goals. Darlene's passion for working with children has motivated her to continue to teach as a Substitute Teacher. She and her husband have been married for years. Darlene's hobbies are arts and crafts, sewing and crocheting. She also enjoys reading and gardening.
Darene Davidson-Gantt, joins our organization, with an education background. She enjoys arts, crafts, reading, sewing, and crocheting. She is a retired educator with over 30 years experience teaching in grades K-8. Darlene would like to work with students in grades K-4. Her focus areas include, English Language Arts, Math, and Art.
Hallie joins our organization with a background in Mathematics. She is an accountant, and a subject matter expert in Microsoft excel. Hallie’s focus area is Mathematics in grades K-10th.
Alicia joins our organization, as an experienced school teacher, and tutor. Alicia is currently an Data Analyst. Her area of concentration is Mathematics in grades 4th-12th, however, Alicia experiences includes ACT/SAT prep, college and scholarship process, career exploration. She is also able to tutor other subjects for all ages as needed. Alicia can teach computer programming and computer literacy if there's an interest
Vikki, joins our organization as an IT expert. Vikki is an Lead Programmer at her company. She would like to work with students in grades second through fourth. Her focus areas includes Math, English and Language Arts
Mila joins our organization as a Mathematician. She was a College Math Professor. Her focus area is all levels of Math 1st-12th grade.
Charley
Peer Tutor
Charley joins our Organization as a Peer Tutor. She is a Sophomore in High School. Charley enjoys cooking, listening to music, and often sings around the house. She plays Cello, she’s also Captain of the JV Girls Basketball team. Charley is a Honors and AP student in all academic core subject areas. She is able to assist in Reading and Mathematics in grades K-10
Brian
Peer Tutor
Brian joins our Organization as a Peer Tutor. He is a Sophomore in High School. He enjoys playing basketball and was a member of his High School’s Freshman Basketball team. Although Brian did not make the JV team this year, he aspires to work harder and make the team his Junior year. Brian performs well in Math and Reading and is grateful for the opportunity to help others. He also enjoys playing video games and hopes to pursue a career in programming and eventually create video game content. Brian is able to assist in Reading, Mathematics, and General Science with youth in grades K-8.
